A Letter to Every Indian - APJ

I came across this content as a mail very recently but it was a speech very long back .....plz spare time to read it fully .....DO READ IT ....TOGETHER LETS CHANGE INDIA...Jai Hind!!!!

The President of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam ’s Speech in Hyderabad .

Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?
We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a
self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.

In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.

Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.
Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.

Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don’t work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?

Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - ‘YOURS’. Give him a face - ‘YOURS’. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don’t throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity… In Singapore you don’t say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn’t dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai . YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.

YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs.650) a month to, ’see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.’YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, ‘Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so’s son. Take your two bucks and get lost.’ YOU wouldn’t chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand .

Why don’t YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don’t YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston??? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India?

Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay, Mr. Tinaikar, had a point to make. ‘Rich people’s dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,’ he said. ‘And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan.

Will the Indian citizen do that here?’ He’s right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.
We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.

We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.
This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.

When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? ‘It’s the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons’ rights to a dowry.’ So who’s going to change the system?

What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.

Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one’s conscience too…. I am echoing J. F. Kennedy’s words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians…..

‘ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY’

Lets do what India needs from us.

Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending Jokes or junk mails.

Thank you,

Dr. Abdul Kalam
I humbly request you to forward this to every Indian…… ……… ……… …

Krish's Day Out..

The day started well when i opened my eyes to feel the drizzle through my window on my face ...with a smile the day started off well....

Briskly i woke up to complete my morning chores and started my walk at arnd 6 in the morning..it was my fav atmosphere with a mild breeze that i felt on my face which just came and made a small impact as if like a small baby kissing my cheeks..i started walking in the drizzle with some extraordinary energy ...

On glancing the road with the small ponds of water stagnated due to the heavy rain the previous day , i was able to see the artistic talents and the creative works of the contractors of the road construction ..

so how many of us have dreamt for a walk in rain from childhood and how many of us had done it ....dono ...But i love to walk in rain ....and i have done it many times

Making small leaps and walking in the road i was able to see the lush green grasses that have grown and the small flowers which were so tiny ..and wondering the creators talents i came across the areas pond which by nature was so beautifully built with a huge tree at one of the sides of its bank ....which would attract any photographer to shoot a pic , but i didn't have a cam at hand as i lost my fav Sony's display :(...

then i went in for a shop to buy the daily and glanced the first page to quickly get some hot news in the cold climate ...OMG it was my(almost many ppls) fav SRK being interrogated at a famous airport....

its headline read as "The Name Game" but as i read through the article walking back home(sorry i was too curious to get a picture of the happening as i was not able to hold my mind from it) my mind said the line should have been " NAME THE GAME???" as it was not only by the names they pricked ppl but after seeing some stampings of some other countries on the passport of a very famous model cum actor .....

here i need to mention abt our Independence its nearly 60 years we have made after our independence ...and still we are saying we ll be a super power soon soon ...but when ?????
i was thinking abt it but i was able to feel the air of independence we were breathing were due to many great ppl who rightly need our salutations ....

then back at home and with a hot coffee and i was peeping into the happenings of the world through the daily i bought ....wow what a time it was ...

then i need to get ready for my another regular work which i was repeating nearly one and half years ...Yeah it was to inquire abt my J2ee exams date :( which am trying to write from third year ....my friends finished the exams soon ...what was my mistake ...the only mistake i made was getting a scholarship ...huf ...u can think how much i have been waiting from this thing am mentioning here ..it is that my friends have written in my slam that " Even when u are reading this u wud have not completed the j2ee test "...and thinking all these in mind and abt the independence day yesterday i boarded the bus ...

i got down at the place and it was the same story again saying we ll let you know the date soon...OMG ...and i went in for the old juice shop in which we always used to have our juice during our classes ....remembering old memories i thought why cant i hang out with my friends ..

and i messaged everyone and our rowdy replied soon so we planned to meet at our info's home...
so rowdy and gym went in rowdy's bike i made through bus ...as i reached mount stop i started walking to info home a bit hungry i was ....what a pity the same day has turned so hot ..

as i was walking i thought the heat may burn some of my extra pounds that i have added recently ...i mean to say it was so hot ..on my way i saw the HOT CHAPATHIS shop which increased my appetite and there was a mess in which the master(as they call in those shops the person cooking) was making egg omelets ....hmmm then i walked across many briyani shops under the banner of many famous shops but which were fake to mention a few Hyderabad Briyani , Thalapakatu Briyani ...

with watering tongue i went to info's home where i was welcomed with Janmashtami batchanam. Gym and rowdy arrived before me and had finished with batchanams .....and we had a general talk abt some quizzes

and ofcourse the hot topic in every group at present H1N1 we also went through the topic ....and we talked abt our coll days and coll gossips still moving on among our friends and the usual talk among the pass-out engg grad of 2009 ..yeah u are rite "What Next ???" then we saw some of our farewell and coll days pics which was like a nostalgia ....and went on with some talks and it was time to depart ...

Missing my friends and my coll days which we enjoyed though crossing many barriers and restrictions we made a great deal and without friends which would have been a real ...(words are struck to describe it ..) ...

and so this post i dedicate to all my friends whom i miss badly though not expressed in words i always cherish my friends each and every person in my dept in my heart deeply..Though we cannot have those HAPPY DAYS back .....hope we all ll stay in touch till the end (at least through mails ...)... i wish all my friends a great success in all their endeavors....

And here i need to wish one of our gangster a great future and wish him all the very best for his higher education on behalf our gang SUV^2B gangsters ....

Friends be in touch .....signing off

Always Your friend

When Pigs flew!!!!!

When Pigs flew !!! When i was thinking abt to write a post abt this , i came across my friend Din's blog and i thought may be i can write a follow up of the post ....

And there he has mentioned how the early morning of a day has turned to be in our Chennai and yes the world threatening pandemic has hit our country ...

H1N1

May be the whole world was talking hilariously as " When pigs flew ...." and alas , yeah it has happened and i cant give up thinking abt the statement ...

The swine flew is the very threatening pandemic currently worried by the whole world for the solution..The pandemic has also entered India ...

Its so serious time we have to think abt it now , when it has not spared a four year boy...We are worried only when we are under the pressure of something so everyone arnd the city were just not reading the news articles and a few worrying for the casualties ...

Ans its time we wake up for the call ...yeah now i can see ppl wearing the mask all arnd the city ..and its better said in previous years as
"Prevention is better than cure "
and yes we can prevent ourselves from being the victim of the world threatening pandemic ...

As a reader u may not mind abt the statistical details of the casualties in India or the world but here i can say its seriously spreading arnd in the air...so lets prevent ourself ....

With the spread of lots and lots of mails and text forwards , there is no need for a spl message here except for the link here for u too read to get some basic idea abt the H1N1 killer virus...

Here are the details of some hospitals in Chennai....

King Institute of Preventive Medicine (24/7 Service)
Guindy, Chennai-32
(044) 22501520, 22501521 & 22501522

Communicable Diseases Hospital
Thondiarpet, Chennai
(044) 25912686/87/88, 9444459543

Government General Hospital
Opp. Central Railway Station, Chennai-03
(044) 25305000, 25305723, 25305721, 25330300

And i personally feel pictorial representation can give a clear idea abt anything than given in words so here is the symptoms and the organs affected by H1N1 (swine flu)

Don think its more like a biology class (lol)....Just for our safety

Lets stay alert and together say a big NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(may be a little big...) to H1N1 swine flu.....
Happy life against H1N1 killer .....

Uncertainty

Uncertainty .....

Uncertainty..........

I have been thinking abt this word for quite a long time ....Is that life is uncertain or whatever...

What is uncertainty ???????? i have been wondering to get a clear meaning abt this alas ended up with usual way the world is turning to get details even for a safety pin shop address ...yeah ofcourse i ended up googling uncertainty...

hey ppl did u notice some thing the word "search" has itself been replaced by the word "google"...

Recently i saw a t shirt quote which read as follows " When i find time i google myself "...

So the search monster ended up giving the meanings as

# being unsettled or in doubt or dependent on chance; "the uncertainty of the outcome"; "the precariousness of his income"

yeah doubt ..doubts lots and lots of doubts .....so is life uncertain...MAY BE or MAY BE NOT....

still in confusion...huf enough of doubts ...

lets take a daily routine...

We wake up ,,,that stands for the first uncertainty ...ll we????????

and we do the regular chores and then we work on something ...we are uncertain abt the result of the work...

But as said in Gita ---do your work without thinking over the result ....

So why did i think abt uncertainty.......... did i want to count the things that are uncertain in life , work or what was it that made me think abt it..

Bhagavath Gita ..many learned ppl say it has all the essentials for life it throws light on all the things to say how life has to be ....

Google threw me with a lot of results for uncertainty ....google which has turned the word search as simple as possible for the world ...

from a seventh grader assignments to a professional doubts ..there is the one stop solution provider....

Why do we search for things .. because we need an answer ....what if we need a shop address try searching it in the net...

so the world wide web has made things simpler easier making things in a single click ...

In the rapidly developing world every kid to senior ppl everybody work with the Internet ...

We should be thankful to the company named after a good idea ...here am talking abt the OS provider for the world which is mostly used by many ....

yeah named rightly we are able to use the os so simply with the good UI and to view or look into the world through the world wide web may be so only its rightly named .this is my idea abt the name but the real reason behind the name can only be explained by the person who named it....(hope you ppl get the name of the os am talking abt ..though i personally have a dislike for it ...but i admire him for his management skills ...)

and here we need to thank the designer of the system hardware without which there would never been a cause for the os and also without a os the hardware would have been a waste ....

ha ha ha look how i have been dragged from the topic i started with and moved on to another with a chain link ....

This post is to see how the search engine goes in for the pages returning us bla bla bla results in so and so time.....so intelligent are the search engines ....for sure the person who designed it is more intelligent...

and you may wonder the title of the post ...

Yes the data or thing you are searching for may or may not turn up in the first few pages of the result ...
Do you get it .........yeah UNCERTAINTY ...everything in this world has a link....

Signing off catch you ppl in my next post
